After 15 fantastic years in the corporate world, I swapped my high heels for site boots and headed outside.
I took the plunge and enrolled at the prestigious London College of Garden Design (LCGD) at the gorgeous Kew Gardens. In my opining, there simply is no better place to be working or training.
I now combine creative and business skills with the rigorous training to transform gardens into beautiful, usable spaces.
And it’s always interesting: One day it’s designing a garden that needs to be super-practical for busy, sociable families; the next it might be working on a master plan with a couple who are looking for a multi-phase “retirement project”.
I also work alongside other professionals to bring their visions to life, through computer modelling and rendering, technical detailing and building show gardens.
Whatever the brief, I love designing spaces that simply compel everyone to get outside and immerse themselves in the natural beauty we are so privileged to have around us.
And before you ask, I rarely miss the heels!
